For Tesla Powershare, which uses a Powerwall 3 with a Wall Connector (Gen 3) or Universal Wall Connector, and for other V2H systems, we plan and install the electrical side and coordinate the manufacturer-certified installation where required. Utility rebate programs change frequently; we check current eligibility when we prepare your estimate, but rebates cannot be guaranteed.
Ways to reduce project costs
- In many homes, a load-sharing device with current sensors (CT clamps) lets the charger use spare capacity and slow down when the house needs power, avoiding a service upgrade.
- Where the dryer and car rarely run at the same time, a listed circuit-sharing device can serve a 24-amp charger from the existing 30-amp dryer circuit, subject to the inspector's acceptance.
- Most cars fully charge overnight at 32 amps or less, so the largest charger and heaviest wire are rarely necessary.
- In buildings and parking lots, dynamic load management lets many chargers share one electrical service instead of upgrading it, and limits demand charges.
